Oberon

Oberon, a town with altitude!!

At over 1100 metres above sea level, with picturesque undulating "English style" countryside, the area enjoys four distinct seasons with cold crisp winters & occasional snowfalls.

With a town population of 2,700 & over 5,000 in the shire, Oberon is situated on the western fall of the Great Divide, 196 kms from Sydney, 80kms from Katoomba.

Timber processing is the major industry, sourcing raw material from radiata pine plantations throughout the district. Prime lambs & beef cattle are the main rural industries. Oberon boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in NSW.

Spectacular National Parks, Jenolan Caves & trout fishing in Lake Oberon attract many visitors to our area which has good shopping facilities, schools, sporting & recreation facilities
